  31. I haven't made a study of the NT scheduler, but on most modern
  32. multiprocessor systems, processor assignment is performed dynamically. This
  33. means that both copies run on both processors some of the time. During one
  34. time-slice, a task may be assigned to processor A, but during another it
  35. may be assigned to processor B. The OS trys, as much as possible, to keep
  36. both processors equally loaded. This means that, on average, each session
  37. of Lightwave will get one processors worth of compute time (minus overhead
  38. and time lost due to resource contention).

  40. This isn't as good as having a "multi-threaded" application, where a single
  41. session can be serviced by both processors simutaneously, but its better
  42. than a stick in the eye.
